Goal
The goal of this project is to automate a 'hands-off' production of a
RPM based ISO CD image from a handful of SRPMs. With the roll-out
practices and necessities of the market, Red Hat, SUSE, and Mandrake seem
to be driven by factors which induce the release of only security
related patches between minor releases.
Stale source packages of non-security related matters, and delay to
general release of the 'latest' of a given package, as well as a
desire to facilitate cross-porting to less popular architectures
(viz., Alpha, SPARC, MIPS), and back-porting packages to prior release
hosts, are among the driving factors for the project.
This project is in the preliminary stages. A very low volume mailing list
