In 1997, 213 children were placed in adoptive homes by the largest non-profit adoption services providers. Of these 213 children, 145 (68.1%) were infants (6 years or younger), 52 (24.4%) were youth (6 to 11 years), and 16 (7.5%) were adolescents (11 years and older). As the graph above indicates, this age breakdown has been generally consistent, while the total number of children placed in adoptive homes has fluctuated from year to year.
Service statistics were provided by Catholic Social Services, Crittenton Family Services, Franklin County Children Services, Lutheran Social Services, and the Methodist Children's Home.
