The number of trips provided by the Central Ohio Transit Authority's (COTA) Project Mainstream has steadily increased since 1981. As the graph above illustrates, the number of passenger trips has increased 346.2% from 23,786 in 1981 to 106,125 in 1997.
Project Mainstream provides curb-to-curb transportation service for individuals with disabilities in Franklin County. The program has continued to increase the number of vehicles and hours of availability, due most recently in response to requirements in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
