According to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, a delinquent juvenile is one who violates any law that would constitute a crime if committed by an adult. An unruly juvenile is one who: does not subject himself to the control of parents, teachers, etc.; is habitually truant from home or school; injures or endangers the health or morals of himself or others; attempts to marry without consent of parents or legal authority; is found in a disreputable place; or violates a law applicable only to a child. The Intake Department provides services to help resolve disputes involving juveniles and their families, both victims and offenders. The goal of Intake is to resolve the conflict and eliminate the need for further court intervention.
