Households by Income Level in Franklin County

The median income of Franklin County households was $30,375 in 1989. The majority of the households (69.3%) had incomes between $15,000 and $74,999, falling into what some researchers refer to as the "extended middle class." At the extremes, 22.3% (84,731 households) had incomes below $15,000, and 8.4% (31,682 households) had incomes greater than $75,000.

The median income of $30,375 in 1989 is up from a median income of $17,081 in 1979. When adjusted for inflation this represents a real increase of 10.7% since 1979.
