Multi-family units accounted for 35.8% and mobile homes and trailers 1.1% of all occupied housing units in Franklin County.
The majority of single-family detached units (88.8%) were owner-occupied, while the majority of multi-family units (94.9%) were renter-occupied. Mobile homes were predominantly owner occupied (88.1% of total).
A one unit structure is classified as detached if it has open space on all four sides even if it has an adjoining garage or shed. A one unit structure is attached if it has one or more walls extending from ground to roof which divide it from other adjoining structures and does not share a furnace or boiler.
